The company expects its phase 3 build-out to be completed in the third quarter of 2007.
"We have had several top Silicon Valley companies move out of their recently built corporate data centers because they were not able to utilize high-density blade servers due to power and cooling restrictions inherent in their internal designs," says John Hoffman, CEO of RES. "RagingWire's Phase 3 expansion is specifically for these customers. We want to allow our clients the ability to expand footprint and power densities at their own pace without risk."
In addition to the expansion, RES has built its own onsite 69KV power substation. Relying on power supplied from two separate grids, the substation can produce 24 megawatts of capacity.
Yatish Mishra, RagingWire president and CTO, says that the utilization average spanning the entire Phase 3 data center floor is designed to reach over 200 watts per square foot. This level of cooling was achieved by incorporating multiple 1,200-ton chillers, a 4-foot raised floor, a 32-foot ceiling and oversized main chilled water lines.
