📅 October 19, 2015 - Recently, a speed test was performed pitting Dropbox against Google Drive, Box and Microsoft OneDrive for Business. The test was performed on a Windows 7 laptop and Dropbox beat both competitors in speed. DropBox for business won when it came to downloading, editing, synching and uploading.

Principled Technologies ran the test and they did it from Dublin, San Francisco and Tokyo. There was a little bit of variance from one region to another, but consistently, Dropbox for Business beat out the competition in nearly every test.

Over the entire study, DropBox was the winner in most tests, while Box was actually second in many tests in the US, but in Europe and Asia, Google Drive was second followed by Microsoft OneDrive for Business. This shows the significant trust barrier for US cloud storage providers with Microsoft OneDrive finishing last.
