Dec, 2014 : Intel Unveils New Internet of Things Platform


📅 - Chipmaker Intel has announced its latest venture in its Internet of Things division, a project that aims to make it easier for customers to deliver data to the cloud, as well as deliver hardware and software to the new platform.

“The new offerings and relationships will make it easier for solution providers to move IoT from pockets of pilots to mainstream deployments with a repeatable foundation of building blocks that can be customized for limitless solutions,” says the company via press release. “Data will be unlocked faster to extract meaningful information and value for consumers and businesses.”

Various companies such as Accenture, Capgemini, Dell, SAP, and Tata Consultancy will aid Intel in developing and deploying its IoT products.

Intel also unveiled new products, which include the Wind River Edge Management System that provides cloud connectivity among configuration, file transfers, and data capture; an IoT Gateway for Wind River Edge Management System integration; an Enhanced Security for Intel IoT Gateways provided by McAfee; Enhanced Privacy Identity technology; and customer access to the Intel Mashery API management tool.

According to Forbes the Internet of Things Platform is expected to generate $2billion a year in revenue and create 18 percent annual growth for the company.
