Dec, 2014 : Google Fiber Sign-Ups Now Available In Austin
📅 - Google has officially opened sign-ups for its Fiber Internet service in Austin, Texas, announced the tech giant last Monday.
Users in the South and Southeast regions of Austin can now begin to sign up for three of Google's Fiber plans, which include:
Basic Internet- $0/ month for speeds up to 5Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speed, with a $300 construction fee.
Gigabit Internet- $70/ month for speeds up to 1,000 Mpbs upload and download speeds and 1TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google + photos.
Gigabit + TV- $130 month for up to 1,000 Mpbs upload and download speed, 150+ channels, and 1TB cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google + photos.
Google Fiber offers users faster Internet speed of 1 gigabit per second. It was first announced in 2013 that it would be arriving in Austin by mid-2014, though it was slightly delayed due to the complex underground drilling that is done for the more than 3,000 miles of underground cable.
Google plans to launch its Fiber service in 34 U.S. cities, including Kansas City, Provo, Nashville, and Atlanta.
