📅 - AT&T customer's data may have been exposed during a data breach that occurred in August by one of the company's employees.
According to Reuters, 1,6000 customers data was exposed in the hack, including customers Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers.
“We take our customers' privacy very seriously and value the trust they have in us,” said an AT&T spokesperson. “Unfortunately, we recently learned that one of our employees did not follow our strict privacy rules and inappropriately obtained some customer information. This individual no longer works at AT&T and we are directly contacting the limited number of affected customers.”
For those affected by the data breach, AT&T is offering a ear of free credit monitoring, as well as ensuring all false charges are reversed.
