Cisco Expands Intercloud With Addition of Over 30 Partners and $1 Billion Investment

📅 - Cisco is increasing its cloud services with the addition of more than 30 new Intercloud partners as well as a $1 billion investment from Cisco Capital.

Among the company's new partners are Deutsche Telekom, British Telecom, Equinix, and NTT DATA, says Cisco via blog post.

“Today's news will expand the reach of the Intercloud by 250 additional data centers in 50 countries, and advances Cisco's plan to address customer requirements for a globally distributed, highly secure cloud platform capable of meeting the robust demands of the Internet of Everything,” says a press release posted earlier today. “Designed for high-value application workloads, with real-time analytics and “near infinite” scalability, Cisco's open approach to the Intercloud allows local hosting and local provider options that enable data sovereignty.”

Cisco will host a news conference today from 7:30 am- 8:45 am PT to further discuss the news and plans for Intercloud.
