EU Commissioner Considering Investigating Google+ and YouTube
📅 - Google could be facing further charges in its EU antitrust investigation due multiple complaints about its services.
“We have received complaints on the possible diversion of internet traffic toward Google services which are not search services, so this is a possible third investigation concerning Google,” says EU Competition Commissioner Joaquin Alumnia.
According to Reuters, Alumnia stated in June that various European publishers, telecom operators, advertising platforms, and picture industries had complained about Google using its existing presence to promote Google+ and YouTube.
“We continue to work with the European Commission to resolve their concerns,” stated Google spokesman Al Verney.
Alumnia noted that he would not be able to finish up the four-year long investigation before he leaves office in October.
