May, 2014 : FireEye To Acquire Forensics Firm nPulse Technologies

📅 - Cybersecurity firm FireEye has announced its plans to acquire the network forensics company nPulse Technologies for $60 million in cash and $10 million in stocks, reports TechCrunch.

With this purchase, FireEye will form a “comprehensive intelligence platform” with the industry's first Enterprise Forensics solution, a platform that offers a “unified view of network to endpoint forensics, enabling enterprises to minimize risk and drive down mean time to resolution,” says a press release from the firm.

Additionally, the FireEye Network Threat Prevention Platform, combined with nPulse's forensics, will provide a complete threat management platform.

“With the addition of the nPulse solution, the FireEye platform will have a “flight recorder” for security analytics. By incorporating real-time breach information from the endpoint and the network, we're building a single platform to provide the most in-depth attack information and the right data to protect and remediate before a compromise turns catastrophic,” said chief executive officer of FireEye, David DeWalt.

FireEye's acquisition of nPulse comes four months after the company announced that it would purchase Mandiant Corp. for around $1 billion.

The transaction is expected to close during the second quarter of 2014.
