May, 2014 : HP To Invest $1 Billion In New Cloud Portfolio, HP Helion
📅 - Hewlett-Packard on Tuesday announced that it will spend over $1 billion over the next two years on its cloud computing services and products.
The company's new cloud portfolio, HP Helion, will include its OpenStack technology products “under a unified portfolio to help meet customers' specific business requirements,” says HP via press release.
The company has introduced new products and services as part of the HP Helion's launch, which includes a free commercial product line of OpenStack, a development platform, Indemnification program, and OpenStack professional services.
“Customer challenges today extend beyond cloud. They include how to manage, control and scale applications in a hybrid environment that spans multiple technology approaches,” says executive VP and chief technology officer at HP, Martin Fink. “HP Helion provides the solutions and expertise customers need to select the right deployment model for their needs and obtain the greatest return for their investment.”
The tech giant will invest over $1 billion dollars towards its Open Stack cloud services to 20 new data centers worldwide within the next 18 months.
HP's Helion Open Stack services will be made available worldwide through its partnership with more than 110 service providers. Currently the company operates more than 80 data centers across 27 countries.
