Catchpoint Systems Expands To Over 200 Backbone Nodes Worldwide
📅 - Catchpoint Systems has announced that it will be expanding its mobile performance monitoring locations to 206 backbone nodes, TechCrunch reports.
The web and infrastructure monitoring company will use series B funding from investor Battery Ventures to deploy 30 new nodes in the first quarter of 2014, focusing in Eastern Europe and Asia-Pacific.
The Backbone nodes enable companies to track their online product performances with “real-time” analytics by monitoring data on devices and in web and mobile apps, browsers, and machine-to-machine technology.
“Our clients demand that their web, mobile and other infrastructure have fast performance and full availability on all devices at all times. To accurately track these metrics, your measurement points must be as close to those users as possible from a geography and IP diversity perspective,” comments Mehdi Daoudi, CEO and founder of Catchpoint. “So it was clear the optimal use of our series B funding was to leapfrog the industry with the most comprehensive global monitoring coverage, which will continue to grow as 2014 unfolds.”
Currently, Catchpoint has 206 backbone nodes, with 26 of them in Russia and 41 in the Asia-Pacific region. The company also noted that it has 47 wireless 3G and 4G nodes worldwide with carriers such as AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
