Apr 10, 2014 : IBM To Acquire Silverpop

📅 - IBM announced earlier today that it has acquired digital marketing software company Silverpop as a way to “help marketers deliver personalized customer engagements.”

According to a press release from IBM, this acquisition will provide users and businesses with a more personalized customer experience.

“The acquisition of Silverpop turbocharges IBM's ability to put the customer at the center of any organization,” said Craig Hayman, GM, Industry Cloud Solutions, IBM. “Now, nearly any marketing, commerce or customer service professional from any business will have the ability to deliver the kinds of personalized customer experiences that make a measurable impact on the brand experience and the bottom line.”

Silverpop will enhance IBM's client base to power around 8,000 organizations in more than 50 countries with its marketing services. Companies that use the Atlanta based company include Mazda, Advanced Micro Devices, and Stonyfield Farm.

“Silverpop's industry-leading cloud-based marketing platform coupled with IBM's own marketing products and global footprint promises to re-invent the future of how organizations and their customers interact and engage,” said Silverpop CEO Bill Nussey. “It's hard for me to imagine a more promising combination.”

IBM's purchase of Silverpop is expected to close in the second quarter of 2014.
