Aug, 2012 : M5 Hosting Launches Cloud Hosting Platform Named M5 Cloud

📅 August 24, 2012 - M5 Hosting announced this week that it has introduced its cloud hosting platform, M5 Cloud, which is designed to compete with the market leaders in terms of price and performance.

According to M5, a hosting provider, much of the impetus for developing the new cloud services came from the company's customers.M5 Hosting claims its cloud hosting services outperformed market leading products in the company's own tests.While it doesn't describe the testing methodology, the company says its cloud storage solution is twice as fast as Amazon Block Storage and four times the speed of SoftLayer's CloudLayer SAN. It is designed to cost 15 percent less than Amazon's cloud.The company believes its cloud hosting solution enables clients to configure RAM and CPU independently, with each virtual machine having the option of 1GB to 80GB of RAM, and CPU from 1 percent of one core to 100 percent of 24 cores.The M5 Cloud offers hybrid hosting solutions using dedicated servers from their data center.The company says customers can deploy its cloud services instantly, through a web-based interface."Our customers asked for a reliable, high-performance, flexible Infrastructure as a Service Cloud," says M5 CEO Michael J. McCafferty, "Cloud hosting requires sophisticated network infrastructure, high performance server hardware, and a team of exceptionally talented system engineers.
