Apr 23, 2012 : Open-Xchange Partners with UnoEuro
📅 - UnoEuro will replace its webmail with Open-Xchange for more than 50,000 consumers and small businesses.
Open-Xchange, a provider of open source collaboration software, recently announced an agreement with UnoEuro, a provider of hosting and email services.
The company states that in the coming months, UnoEuro will consolidate and replace its existing webmail services with Open-Xchange. At no additional charge, UnoEuro customers will get modern, easy-to-use integrated email, calendar and contact management. This cloud-based application can be accessed with any standard web browser on a PC, iPad or smartphone. Later this year, customers will be able to upgrade easily from webmail to take advantage of mobility support and more advanced collaboration features in Open-Xchange. Personal contacts from social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn or Xing can be easily added to the unified Open-Xchange address book making those contacts instantly available on any device. By deploying the Open-Xchange in-application upsell mechanism, customers of UnoEuro's standard hosting packages will be able to easily test-drive and upgrade to premium features, such as state-of-the-art mobility solutions for iPhone and Android smartphones.
It further states that Open-Xchange is a messaging and collaboration cloud suite providing a seamless user experience across platforms and devices, as well as across social and business networks. Open-Xchange integrates email, calendar, contact and task management with advanced collaboration features such as information management and document sharing, along with cutting-edge social network integration. By adding Open-Xchange mobility capabilities, users can receive push email and synchronization of contacts, calendar and other information from their Open-Xchange account to their smartphones, including iPhone, Android-based devices, Nokia and Windows Phone.
"Simple, secure and affordable mobility support are a key factor when consumers and small business owners choose a cloud-based communication service," said Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange. "Email and PIM (personal information management) services based on Open-Xchange are great opportunities for providers to offer customers value-added services and increase ARPU (average revenue per user) and customer loyalty at the same time."
"At UnoEuro, we strive to eliminate the misconception that quality services have to be expensive and complicated," said Stefan Rosenlund, CEO of UnoEuro. "We were thrilled when we discovered the functionality and ease-of-use of Open-Xchange, providing our customers with cloud-based email, calendars and address book management at no cost. And we love the idea that customers can add advanced mobility support and teamwork features directly within the Open-Xchange user interface easily, anytime at a very competitive price."
