ViaWest, a provider of managed hosting solutions, yesterday announced the hiring of John Greenwood as its Texas Regional Vice President and General Manager. The company says that as General Manger, John will have overall responsibility for its operations in Texas where the company currently operates six data centers in the Dallas area and one data center in Austin. Texas is one of its largest markets, and John will have an immediate impact in meeting the company's aggressive growth initiative. It adds that the company currently operates 19 data centers which span a 5 state footprint including Colorado, Texas, Utah, Nevada, and Oregon.
According to the company, John Greenwood has a long and successful history of executive sales experience in the region, most recently serving as the Dallas General Manager for CyrusOne. John is a graduate of Marquette University and also holds a MS in Telecommunications from SMU, and a MBA from the University of Dallas.
"Texas is a key market for ViaWest, and we needed a proven achiever to lead our efforts," said Paul Gerrard, ViaWest's EVP of Sales & Marketing. "With his long history of achievements, we feel he possesses the business and sales experience, as well as the drive we need to aggressively pursue our expansion in Dallas and Austin."
