ControlCircle, a data center and managed services provider, today announced that the company has achieved the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for information management and physical security at its UK operations centers. The company avers that the internationally-recognized standard provides assurance that it maintains the highest levels of security for its clients' information assets. It adds that the award is part of an ongoing process to achieve ISO 27001 accreditation at all sites of the company as the firm expands its global footprint deeper into Europe, North America and in the Asia Pacific.
The company explains that ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is the only auditable international standard which defines the requirements for an information security management system. The standard is designed to ensure the selection of adequate and proportionate security controls. This accreditation acknowledges that it adopts a process approach for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining, and improving an information security management system. The certification covers physical infrastructure, site security and access management, communications and operations, legal compliance criteria, back-up and disaster recovery systems.
