👈 Official Responses: 0) announced on Monday that Internet security solutions provider VeriSign (verisign.com) has signed a multi-year colocation and services contract to expand its Internet infrastructure at Terremark's NAP of the Americas.


VeriSign says its expansion at the NAP includes increasing the capacity for its top-level domain servers and certificate revocation list system.

In addition to deploying infrastructure at the NAP, VeriSign has become one of the first customers to select the NAP's 10 GigE Peering Fabric, says Terremark. Terremark's 10GigE peering services, says the company, can offer enhanced capabilities such as increased capacity and reliable traffic exchange across the NAP's redundant peering fabric to its more than 500 customers.

"We are proud that VeriSign has made the choice to expand their footprint at the NAP of the Americas," says Manuel Medina, chairman and CEO of Terremark Worldwide. "VeriSign has access to networks and peers at the NAP that help it enable and protect billions of interactions worldwide."

Terremark announced last week that it had appointed Bruce W. Hart as chief operating officer for Terremark Federal Group.
