CA Technologies Announces Expanded Support for Amazon Web Services
📅 - Management and automation solutions help customers increase business agility and cost-effectively optimize their IT supply chain.
CA Technologies, a provider of IT management software and solutions, yesterday announced expanded support for Amazon Web Services. According to the company, CA Virtual, CA Service Automation, CA Service Assurance and the Nimsoft Monitoring Solution can now easily plug into the Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) for increased business agility. These solutions enable businesses to automate the deployment of applications and resources within the Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure, monitor the technical performance of the services and help ensure that the use of the resources at any given time is optimally aligned with business requirements.
It articulates that its added support for Amazon Web Services helps customers achieve greater business agility and cost-effectively optimize their IT supply chain. With Amazon VPC, the company's customers can extend their data center into the cloud using a secure industry-standard encrypted IPsec Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. Users can create an isolated network, specify the IP address range of their own choosing, and then launch Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances into that network.
The company mentions that it supports both Amazon EC2 and Amazon VPC, enabling customers to use one set of tools to successfully manage their IT resources across on premise resources and AWS. For example, customers can use:
"Amazon VPC enables enterprises to connect their existing technology infrastructure to a set of secure on-demand, highly elastic and highly reliable cloud compute resources, as if they were a part of their own data center," said Terry Wise, Director of Business Development, Amazon Web Services LLC. "We are pleased that CA Technologies customers can fully leverage CA management and automation solutions in conjunction with their use of AWS."
"IDC expects most enterprises will adopt some type of cloud strategy in the near term," explained Mary Johnston Turner, IDC Research Director, Enterprise System Management Software. "Their move to the cloud will be made easier by taking an integrated, coordinated approach that involves managing existing resources with cloud resources via workload automation, and application performance monitoring and reporting."
