Cloud Linux Inc., a software company dedicated to serving the needs of hosting service providers, yesterday announced that CirtexHosting, a Linux web hosting provider, has added CloudLinux on all its hosting offerings to help deliver increased stability and improve server performance. The company avers that CirtexHosting selected CloudLinux for its new innovative Lightweight Virtual Environment(LVE) technology that will deliver substantial performance improvements to its hosting infrastructure.

It articulates that CirtexHosting will offer CloudLinux on its dedicated and VPS solutions, which are sold through the HostV brand. HostV is a division of Cirtex that provides expertise in high end hosting and is managed by staff that specializes in supporting VPS, dedicated and hybrid server customers. CirtexHosting will also upgrade its existing shared hosting platform to provide the benefits of increased stability and reliability to all its hosting customers.

The company says that with CloudLinux, CirtexHosting will be able to provide its customers with:

Significant improvements in the density and stability of their hosting setup
Increased uptime since no one account can slow down or take down an entire shared server
Better reliability and performance with a server that is running at peak operating capacity
Compatibility with all major control panels for easy management

It explains that CloudLinux's core technology is Lightweight Virtual Environment a kernel-level technology that limits the amount of resources (CPU, I/O, memory) available to a group of processes. While similar to container type virtualization technology, LVE is completely transparent and lightweight. Once installed, the LVE works transparently to manage resources that the hosting provider sets for the accounts on a server. It controls the CPU resources to ensure that each account on a shared server is allocated enough resources to run efficiently without jeopardizing the other tenants on that server, making the server more stable and delivering better performance.

The company states that with LVE, administrators now have the tools to control the CPU and IO demands of individual tenants, so that a single site cannot slow or take down a whole server. Compatible with major control panels for easy management and deployment, CloudLinux offers cloud and dedicated server hosting providers with increased server control and stability.
