It explains that Apptix Perimeter Email Defense is designed for businesses looking to supplement or reduce the load on existing on-premise anti-spam solutions and better protect against email attacks such as Directory Harvest Attacks (DHAs) or Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. The service filters inbound IP traffic based on real-time blacklisting to prevent potentially harmful messages from ever reaching the corporate network. The company further explains that Apptix Email Defense with Continuity is a complete, full-server email security suite. The solution includes the capabilities of Apptix Perimeter Email Defense plus full spam protection policies and message continuity in the event of an outage, planned or not. It protects communications systems through proven spam filters, leading anti-virus engines, content filtering, and fraud detection.
It articulates that in the event of an outage, ongoing email exchanges are queued securely off-site for up to 60 days and automatically synced with the on-premise system once service is restored. Emails can be sent or received and stored messages accessed via a secure Web portal. This allows employees to continue emailing while IT administrators perform maintenance on in-house systems.
