R1Soft, a developer of Continuous Data Protection, yesterday announced that TurnKey Internet, a provider of managed web hosting, will now offer R1Soft Continuous Data Protection (CDP) as a fully-managed, offsite backup service to its dedicated server clients. The company says that complete with simple, seamless Bare-Metal Restores, its CDP software will allow TurnKey Internet to protect its clients' Linux servers, Windows servers, and MySQL databases with advanced disk to disk backup technology.

It explains that by creating block level backups and storing unique disk blocks across all recovery points only once, R1Soft CDP increases storage efficiency and reduces server resource usage. After completing an initial replica of data, CDP can complete virtual full backups in just minutes allowing more frequent backups and a superior level of data protection without affecting server performance. The company avers that its Bare-Metal Restore feature enables TurnKey Internet to quickly restore an entire server to a previous state directly from any point-in-time backup skipping the O/S re-installation step and reducing the traditional 10-step server restore process to just four steps.
