Dec, 2009 : GlobalSign Partners with Black Lotus Communication

📅 - Newly formed partnership will allow Black Lotus to enhance its protection solutions by offering GlobalSign's SSL certificates.

GlobalSign, a Certification Authority and specialist in SSL Partner Programs, today announced a new partnership with Black Lotus Communications, a provider of DDoS protection, managed hosting and unmanaged dedicated servers. The company says that the newly formed partnership will allow Black Lotus to enhance its protection solutions by offering company's SSL certificates. It avers that by adding SSL certificates to their portfolio, Black Lotus will not only enhance its protection services, but will offer customers a one-stop-shop online security service.

The company explains that Black Lotus chose it for the trusted range of value added SSL certificates, and will enjoy the extra benefits of its integration with the Ubersmith web hosting billing management platform. It claims that the Ubersmith integration allows Black Lotus to manage and automate SSL certificate reselling from the same Ubersmith platform they already use to manage their existing portfolio. Adding its SSL certificate range to their portfolio will provide Black Lotus an additional revenue stream with a fast time to market, adds the company.

It further explains that Black Lotus will offer its feature packed SSL range, including Domain Validated SSL, traditional Organization Validated SSL and EV SSL, the newly standardized SSL which activates the green address bar interface in IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari browsers. Its SSL certificates will be included in Black Lotus hosting and server bundle packages. The company states that all its SSL certificates are inclusive of Server Gated Cryptography (SGC) (to step up weak browser encryption to strong encryption on older browsers) and are issued from the widely distributed 2048 bit GlobalSign Root CA.

"We are delighted to add a leading DDoS protection solutions company such as Black Lotus Communications to our portfolio of partners and extend our SSL solutions to an expanded audience," says Katsuo Chujo, Marketing Director, GlobalSign. "This new partnership, will enable Black Lotus to provide customers with dynamic protection solutions built around the highest levels of trust and security."

"Black Lotus needed a partnership with a Certificate Authority who offered strong, future-proof SSL at reasonable prices, and GlobalSign ticked all the boxes," said Jeff Lyon, President of Black Lotus Communications. "Adding GlobalSign's SSL certificates to our protection offerings will allow us to strategically differentiate ourselves and provide immediate one-stop-shop benefits for our valued customer base."
