📅 January 31, 2007 - Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (1and1.com) announced on Tuesday it has launched its new Lenexa, Kansas data center and unveiled its new line of dedicated and virtual private servers that will be housed in this facility.


The Lenexa data center's central location in the US creates a smooth, low latency connection for the North American continent. The facility also has strong fiber-optic connectivity to several ISPs, high redundant capacity and can route thousands of Terabytes per month without any data jams. Collectively, these features help ensure its network a more than 99.99 percent uptime.

1&1's dedicated servers include dual and quad core servers, all fully-equipped with the latest hardware from AMD. Customers can choose from a root, managed or Windows server to determine the dedicated server solution that best suits their requirements. The servers also include up to 8GB RAM and a Plesk 100 license. "Since 1&1 sold out servers in October 2006, this new line of servers is a welcome and much requested addition," says Andreas Gauger, chairman for 1&1 Internet.
