Alentus Corporation, a provider of web hosting, sharepoint hosting, dedicated servers and managed hosting services, today announced the completion of major expansions to core backbone network connectivity.

The company avers that in keeping with its commitment to the highest quality of network performance for mission critical operations, it has doubled the size of its backbone capacity on their core networks serving the Columbus, Ohio and Edmonton, Canada datacenters. This addition builds multiple paths in the network while meeting growth demands for increasing dedicated server traffic, states the company.

''We have spent the past several months doing extensive fiber path research and carrier evaluation to pick capacity routes which not only grow our network but enhance its resiliency,'' added Adam LaFountain, Vice President of Infrastructure. ''In addition to overall capacity, we also installed additional core Cisco network routers in all of our datacenters and network termination points. We believe these upgrades will not only benefit existing customers but also attract additional resellers of our services.''
