👈 Official Responses: 0) was selected by Microsoft (microsoft.com) for its BizSpark Program network as a hosting services provider to provide startups support and cost savings in their first crucial years of operations.
The BizSpark Program, launched in November, is designed to unite startups with a global community of entrepreneurial and technology including cutting-edge software and services. According to the company's Wednesday announcement, NaviSite will be supplying qualifying startups the hosting services and bandwidth needed to get them up and running.
"NaviSite understands the needs of startups and over the years has seen many of its customers experience success," NaviSite dedicated hosting senior vice president Sumeet Sabharwal said in a statement. "A growing number of new independent software vendors are developing the next generation of web-based software and services, and are demanding that software be delivered uninterrupted and affordably. NaviSite and the BizSpark program facilitate easy adoption of a hosted model for participating start-ups."
Included in the BizSpark membership is access to a wide range of Microsoft's full-featured development tools and platform technologies, visibility on the Microsoft Startup Zone (microsoftstartupzone.com) website, and assistance from a global community of support resources, enabling businesses to realize significant savings in supporting and enhancing their hosted IT infrastructure.
Microsoft worldwide communications sector SaaS independent software vendor industry manager Dave Wright said that BizSpark is a comprehensive program that accelerates the transition to hosted applications. "NaviSite was selected as a network provider because of its exclusive and broad solution set and expanded focus on small businesses through its Dedicated Hosting Business Unit. Microsoft's unique end-to-end capability to provide not only software, but also the tools that power and operate the software is attractive to startups. Building the next generation of software on Microsoft technology is the fastest path to success."
Involvement in the BizSpark program is the latest in NaviSite's longtime commitment to Microsoft technologies. NaviSite has demonstrated Hosting Solutions competency and Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status within the Microsoft Partner Program, and its Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 dedicated servers power many applications worldwide.
