lunavi.com logo📅 - Green colocation and managed hosting provider Green House Data (http://www.greenhousedata.com) announced on Tuesday that it will provide energy efficient outsourced data center services to the National Outdoor Leadership School (http://www.nols.edu) out of its wind powered facility.

In December, Green House Data signed a deal to provide outsourced data center services to on-demand storage solutions provider Atrato's Velocity1000 storage system.

Green House Data's Cheyenne, Wyoming data center is powered by renewable wind energy and energy efficiency techniques.

As a result, the 10,000 square foot data center is 60 percent more energy efficient than comparably sized data centers, according to its website.

Additionally, the company's eco-friendly operations deliver a zero carbon footprint facility that is approximately ten percent less expensive than its competitors.

"From server virtualization to air-conditioner economizers, Green House Data has made a commitment to its customers like NOLS that it will not charge a premium price for services that should be included in every data center's operation," says Shawn Mills, president of Green House Data. "We are extremely pleased to see leaders in corporate America adopting this same philosophy."

The data center uses many energy efficiency features, including water-side economizers to offer free cooling, server side cooling to use cooling as a direct heat source for managed services, hot-Isle heat containment to maximize cooling efficiency, and an efficient floor layout and design that helps allign hot aisle/cold aisles.

In phase two of its facility, the company also plans to install ground source heat pumps to provide up to 25 percent more energy efficient cooling than traditional HVAC cooling equipment.

Customers are provided with a Green House Data symbol to display on their website to show their own customers that they understand the importance of energy efficiency, social responsibility and decreasing their carbon footprint.

Green House Data provides a range of colocation and managed hosting services, including managed servers, managed storage, dedicated infrastructure and complex hosting.
