Mar 19, 2009 : ZipServers Launches DNS Only for VPS

📅 March 19, 2009 - Managed and dedicated hosting provider ZipServers (zipservers.com ) announced this week that it has launched a new cPanel-based DNS Only service for customers of its VPS packages.

The company says the service enables customers of its VPS plans to access redundant DNS service from each of the company's three data centers, located in Dallas, Seattle and Washington, DC.

ZipServers launched its Washington DC location in October of 2008 to provide VPS hosting services.

"cPanel DNS ONLY packages start at $4.95 per month and provide enough resources for customers to power a stand alone DNS server" said Charles Nix, vice president of sales, quoted in the press release.

The company says the service might interest web designers or even hosting providers who want to create some geographic redundancy for their infrastructure.

According to the press release, the service uses DNS clustering in WebHost Manager to create a cluster between the standalone name server and any server running cPanel and WHM.

The ZipServers website has a page listing all of its hosting packages, including each of its three DNS Only packages.
