All of The Planet's dedicated hosting customers now have access to Parallels Plesk Panel 9.0, including those with private and virtual racks.
The news follows NaviSite's recent announcement that it is also offering Parallels Plesk Panel 9.0 and Parallels Plesk Billing 6.0.
Released in December, version 9.0 of Parallels Plesk Panel hosting control panel is the first major release of the software since Plesk 8 was released in 2006.
The new version offers many enhanced features, including tighter integration with the APS application catalog, a reseller user-account level, a new Vista-like theme, a backup and restore function and integration with Parallels Plesk Billing 6.0, which was also released in December.
This integration includes support for a seamless sign-on between both the billing and control panel, and gives resellers the capability of letting their end customers view their invoices directly from the control panel.
"We continue to stay in lockstep with our technology partners to offer the latest versions of their products," says Urvish Vashi, The Planet's general manager for dedicated hosting. "Our customers reap the benefits of new software features as well as our IT infrastructure, with hallmarks that include around-the-clock support, SAS 70 Type II data centers and an industry-leading network."
