👈 Official Responses: 0) announced on Thursday it has upgraded its Enterprise Cloud computing platform with new features.
The new features include Dynamic Capacity Management, which enables Enterprise Cloud customers to access on-demand computing capacity with a "burst mode," providing greater flexibility than in the past.
Dynamic Capacity Management, which can be enabled for processing and memory resources as needed, provides real-time access to additional computing capacity. This enables customers to meet the demands of unexpected traffic spikes in a flexible and cost-effective manner.
Launched last July, The Enterprise Cloud, which is powered by an enhanced version of the company's Infinistructure utility computing platform.The platform uses the company's top-tier data centers and access to network connectivity.
"With the enhancements we are introducing, The Enterprise Cloud has taken the next step in offering increased control of IT environments to our customers," says Randy Rowland, general manager of managed hosting services for Terremark. "The Enterprise Cloud's combination of highly scalable, dedicated cloud-based resources with a real-time burst mode gives the enterprise a more agile and economic IT engine than ever before."
The Enterprise Cloud's web application enables customers to provision servers from a pre-allocated pool of dedicated computing resources. The application enables customers to configure and provision servers, group and organize them according to role, and dynamically extend according to usage.
The platform offers a range of preconfigured server roles across Microsoft Windows, Linux and Sun Solaris operating systems.
The portal also provides a full reporting interface that provides an overview of the server's resource utilization and application performance.
Terremark provides a set of managed solutions including managed hosting, colocation, disaster recovery, security and cloud computing services.
In other cloud computing-related news, Sun Microsystems recently acquired Belgian cloud computing company Q-layer, which specializes in automating cloud deployment and management.
