Oct 30, 2008 : Digiweb Expands Dublin Facility

📅 October 30, 2008 - Ireland-based Web hosting provider Digiweb (digiweb.ie -> hostpapa.com) announced on Thursday it has expanded its data center at Blanchardstown Technology Campus in Dublin with the opening of its new data suite that offers an additional 50 percent capacity.


According to Digiweb, the new facility is drawing significant interest from virtualization solutions, dedicated servers and colocation from small to large customers including financial services and disaster recovery solutions.

The expansion is part of its ongoing investment into data center capacity in Ireland, says Digiweb, adding that the company expects to expand to tens of thousands of square feet of further capacity over the next three years.

The data center currently provides a range of services to many high profile customers including the Tower Hotel Group, the Law Society and the Central & Regional Fisheries Board as well as popular Irish websites like iFoods.tv and boards.ie.

The range of services includes secure colocation, disaster recovery facilities and providing managed servers and network hardware.

The certified facility features N+1 engineering, multiple fiber rings and agreements with Tier 1 providers, and multiple UPS and generators, meeting the diverse hosting needs of small business, enterprises and government data and systems.

Dublin has continued to see significant growth in data center activity within the past few years. Last month, IBM and the Industrial Development Agency of Ireland announced they have invested EUR 30 million in a new data center at IBM's Technology Campus in Dublin.
