Oct 28, 2008 : Asian Conference Adds US Sponsors


📅 - Consulting firm BroadGroup (broad-group.com) has announced two new sponsors for Data Centers Asia 2008 (datacentres.com/dca), its upcoming, second annual Asia Pacific regional data center conference and expo held November 12 to 13 in Singapore .


According to an announcement Tuesday, Internet networking equipment and management provider Cisco is a "Signature Sponsor" of the event. Also Tuesday, IT Infrastructure services provider Savvis signed on as "Bronze Sponsor." While the two companies are based in San Jose and Missouri respectively, each has aggressively targeted the Asian market.

Described as "a truly Asian networking hub," DCA08 will be the largest regional gathering of data center operators, enterprise users, and suppliers.

"We are delighted to be the Signature Sponsor for the second Data Centers Asia event," Cisco Asia Pacific head of data center technology Bernie Trudel said in a statement. "CEOs in Asia are facing key business challenges such as globalization, innovation, new business models, evolving customer transactions to interactions, environmental sustainability, new partnerships, and the need to reduce costs."

He said that Cisco will share its data center design experience and best practices with attendees. "This allows IT organizations to be much more agile and responsive in providing value to their business stakeholders."

Savvis, which owns and operates 29 Data Centers in the US, Europe and Asia, including Singapore and Japan locations, contributing to its approximately 1.43 million sq.ft of raised floor space.

"DCA08 rightly recognizes the importance of managed and utility infrastructure services as enterprises continue to look at outsourcing significant parts of their IT functions to trusted partners in data centers," Savvis said in a statement. "Savvis is well positioned to offer these services globally, and looks forward to participating in this important regional conference."

BroadGroup said original research will be presented at the event covering South East Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand. BroadGroup has previously published reports on the emerging Asian IT marketplace. The data center market has particularly looked promising, with India as experiencing substantial growth, with estimates of it becoming worth more than $1.5 billion by 2010.
