📅 February 22, 2007 - Akamai Technologies (akamai.com), a provider for accelerating content and business processes online, announced on Wednesday that online video solution provider VideoEgg (videoegg.com) has uploaded more than three million video files across the Akamai EdgePlatform.


Using Akamai's Edgeplatform, VideoEgg was able to support its growing customer base with an ad insertion solution and fast user upload of millions of files. The platform enables VideoEgg to offer its global users 90 percent faster upload times, improving the user experience and reducing bandwidth costs.

Akamai also enables VideoEgg to add new partner sites while providing additional methods of monetizing digital assets on behalf of these publishers through the largest ad network for social media sites, the Eggnetwork. VideoEgg relies on high global performance and scalability as many of its customers have large, international user bases and need to support thousands of user uploads and downloads each day.
