📅 September 29, 2008 - Energy and life sciences software developer Stone Bond Technologies (stonebond.com) has selected on-demand IT infrastructure solutions provider The Planet (theplanet.com -> softlayer.com -> ibm.com) to provide the core platform for its software test bed.

According to the announcement Monday, The Planet's facilities will be the testing ground for Stone Bond's variety of mission-critical software solutions, including integration, workflow automation and messaging software. Integrating The Planet's platform will help Stone Bond develop software that lets clients exchange, map, align and clean data across multiple software applications and hardware platforms.

"Customers rely on Stone Bond to deliver enterprise-quality solutions," Stone Bond senior vice president and chief information officer Pamela Szabo said in a statement. "We serve industries that require rationalized critical data from multiple sources to make long-term business decisions. Before we introduced our newest messaging product, we used the vast resources of The Planet's servers, data centers and network infrastructure to simulate the complexities of a trading room floor, where tens of thousands of messages are exchanged in the course of just a few hours."

The Planet marketing and product management vice president Steve Kahan said his company's world-class data centers and enterprise-quality network offer the best testing environment for new products and solutions.

"The cost of purchasing servers, software and bandwidth to test enterprise scalability can wreak havoc on budgets," Kahan said in a statement. "A number of companies have turned to The Planet to create test beds to evaluate the scalability of their products and solutions before they're released. With servers available in just one hour, coupled with the significant cost savings, we expect even more companies like Stone Bond Technologies to take advantage of our capabilities."
