📅 September 24, 2008 - Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (1and1.com) announced on Wednesday it has introduced to its American customer a new range of affordable dedicated servers that offer energy saving AMD processors, large quotas of RAM and hard disk space, and RAID1 or RAID5 technology.


Last month, the company's UK division previously introduced the line of dedicated servers to its European customers, and has now decided to extend the offering to customers in the United States.

The company says the premium server packages provide "greater power, flexibility and control than shared hosting solutions." The servers are designed for hosted e-commerce or databases, file or application servers and web development.  The 1&1 Premium Servers start at $99.99 per month, and are available in Linux, Windows or managed configurations. The servers have a 100MBit data connection, as well as 30 GBit connectivity via 1&1 Internet's own data center in Lenexa, Kansas.

The company also launched on Wednesday a Value Range of servers, priced from $69.99 a month, which are designed for uses such as game servers or email servers. 1&1's line of Premium Servers strives to meet a range of customer needs, starting with the Business Server I, which is priced from $99.99 per month and includes Dual-Core Opteron CPU, 2GB RAM, 250GB disk space, and RAID1. Business Server II starts from $199.99 per month and includes 4GB RAM, 500GB disk space, and RAID1.

Enterprise Server I is priced at $299.99 per month and includes Quad-Core Opteron CPU, 4GB RAM, 750GB disk space, and RAID1. Enterprise Server II starts at $399.99 per month and includes Quad-Core Opteron CPU, 8GB RAM, 1,000GB disk space, and RAID1. And Titan Server starts at $499.99 per month and includes two Quad-Core Opteron CPU, 16 GB RAM, 1,500GB disk space, and RAID5.

The new 1&1 Premium Server range offers a new level of performance and reliability for application testing and deployment, as well as running CRM. 1&1's new Titan Server offers the user dynamic and robust capabilities for running even the most intensive database applications, deployment of resource hungry applications and virtualization.

The 1&1 Linux and Windows dedicated servers includes Parallels (parallels.com) Plesk 8, an intuitive control panel that enables users to manage their server efficiently. "At 1&1 we have redefined our server offerings to bring the best packages to IT professionals and SMBs," says Oliver Mauss, CEO of 1&1 Internet. "We've invested many resources to transform the standard server packages to include enterprise-level technologies such as RAID5 and the latest AMD processors."   Meanwhile, 1&1's Value Server range offers a low cost server alternative for less demanding users. Priced from $69.99 a month, the servers include AMD processors, RAID1 and disk space ranging from 160GB to 500GB.
