Aug 26, 2008 : Sedo Expands Team with New VP
📅 - Not a month after announcing its chief strategy officer was stepping down after six years with the company, online domain name marketplace Sedo (sedo.com) reported on Tuesday that it has appointed Sam Nunez its vice president of product management. The former Oversee.net executive will manage the product roadmap for Sedo's online marketplace, define marketing requirements and feature changes, and drive their execution, says the company.
"A well known insider within the domain industry, Nunez is an excellent addition to the Sedo team," says Tim Schumacher, CEO of Sedo in the company's recent press release. "His extensive, global expertise will help Sedo to enhance its leadership position and expand the company's product offerings."
Previously, Nunez worked at Oversee.net where he was in charge of product management for Domain Sponsor, where he led the internationalization of Domain Sponsor and enhanced its optimization to include direct and non-traditional advertisers. Prior to that, Nunez worked at Ask.com as group product manager for search personalization and platforms.
Joining Sedo's leadership team, Nunez says he looks forward to helping Sedo strengthen its market position in the global domain name marketplace, especially as it extends other services, such as live auctions, on a global scale.
Sedo, an acronym for "Search Engine for Domain Offers," says it is the leading online marketplace for buying and selling domain names and has assembled the world's largest database of domain names for sale, with more than 14 million listings. Sedo is majority owned by AdLINK Group (adlinkgroup.net/en/index.php), which is a subsidiary of German technology company United Internet (united-internet.com), the parent company of Web hosting provider 1&1 Internet (1and1.com).
Earlier this month, Sedo's director of business development, Mark Klein, talked to WHIRtv about the maturing secondary domain name landscape and how web hosts and domain registrars could tap into this market to increase customer loyalty and revenue.
