Aug 14, 2008 : NaviSite Joins PCI Security Council

📅 August 14, 2008 - Web hosting provider NaviSite (navisite.com ) announced on Thursday it has joined the PCI Security Standards Council (pcisecuritystandards.org) as a new participating organization.

The company is working with the council to evolve the PCI Data Security Standard and other payment card data protection standards.

The PCI DSS is endorsed by major credit card companies like American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa.

The standard requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to adhere to information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity.

NaviSite will now be able to access the latest payment card security standards from the council, as well as provide feedback on the standards and take part in a community of more than 400 organizations.

PCI Security Standards Council works towards enhancing payment account security by instilling educational awareness of PCI security standards.

NaviSite provides enterprise hosting and application solutions, including managed application services, application development, implementation and management.

In June, hotel chain Hyatt Hotels & Resorts selected NaviSite to provide enterprise-level managed messaging and collaborative infrastructure services for Lotus Domino.

The data center is currently leased to two tenants, one is Charter Communications and the other is Navisite, the cloud provider. Carter Validus reportedly paid $37 million for the facility.
