Jul 30, 2008 : Comodo Extends Support for Solution
📅 - Identity and trust assurance management solutions provider Comodo (comodo.com) has extended its Two Factor authentication solution to support Microsoft's Outlook Web Access and SharePoint server applications.
According to the announcement Wednesday, Comodo's PKI-based solution, Two Factor now offers support to two of the most widely used email and collaboration platforms.
Using PKI, an arrangement that binds public keys with respective user identities through a certificate authority, adoption is relatively seamless according to Comodo. Once the digital certificate is installed, the user does not need to add any authentication steps to their current login processes.
Two Factor, as the name implies, offers "a true two factor solution" according to the company, maintaining a "something you know + something you have" two factor authentication rule.
As well as digital certificates, the flexible Two Factor solution also serves single use passwords via SMS messaging, voice message and personal security questions, providing extensive policy compliance, security and an ease of use with little-to-no user intervention.
Two Factor is Comodo's latest product to get a facelift. In July, Comodo enhanced their partner program, allowing resellers to integrate digital certificates and security solutions with a variety of price points and branding options.
Earlier in the year, Comodo launched its feedback and rating platform for online merchants and customers, UserTrust Program, a solution similar to the one offered by RatePoint.
