📅 June 23, 2008 - Dedicated hosting provider The Planet (theplanet.com -> softlayer.com -> ibm.com) announced on Monday it will participate at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (partner.microsoft.com/global/40018508), held July 7 to 10 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

As a bronze-level conference sponsor for the event, The Planet will also demonstrate its hosting solutions and services at Booth #1114.

"We will make a number of strategic announcements to coincide with the opening of the conference, since thousands of partners will be participating in this year's event," says Steve Kahan, The Planet's VP of marketing and product management. "With representation both at our booth and as an invited guest in Microsoft's Hosting Pavilion, we invite partners, customers, prospects and friends to stop by either location where they can learn how to increase their profits by working with The Planet and its powerful Microsoft-centric hosting solutions."

The Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference provides a range of resources for its partners, enabling companies to use their Microsoft investment by "sharing in future business opportunities, participating in hands-on training and networking with other Microsoft teams and the extended partner community."

As a Microsoft Gold Partner with competencies in Information Worker, Advanced Infrastructure, Networking Infrastructure and Security, The Planet has long been a supporter of Microsoft solutions and products.

The dedicated hosting provider keeps an office on the Microsoft campus where the company is able to collaborate with Microsoft managerial, technical and product teams on a daily basis.

The company says on its website that is "regularly selected by Microsoft to evaluate new product releases" under its Early Adopter Programs and Technical Adopter Programs. The Planet is currently involved in Microsoft Presently we are part of the Vista TAP program.

More recently, The Planet launched a new control panel in April for Microsoft's Hosted Messaging and Collaboration solution, in the latest version of its Enhanced Automated Framework, EAF version 4.
