Oct 11, 2007 : Terremark Signs Deal with US Defense

📅 October 11, 2007 - IT infrastructure solutions provider Terremark Worldwide (terremark.com ), and its engineering partner By-Light Professional Services (by-light.com) announced on Thursday that it has signed an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with the US Department of Defense.

The company is an exclusive member and the only telecom services provider on the Northrop Grumman (northropgrumman.com) team, one of five defense contractors chosen by the US military to compete for task orders that will be funded by the $15 billion five-year program. The company will provide technology development application for new products and services to defense and federal civilian agencies, state and local authorities, as well as partner nations engaged in counter-drug and counter-narcoterrorism operations.

Terremark and its partner serve as Northrop Grumman's only telecom services provider under the contract for technology insertion, systems integration and systems engineering, product data, information fusion centers, IT networks, configuration management, studies and analysis, IT and communications and network development and deployment.

Terremark announced last week it started building a $250 million data center project in Culpeper Country, Virginia.

📅 Feb 9, 2009 - Terremark Delays Building in Santa Clara - Terremark Worldwide (terremark.com ) announced on Monday it has decided to delay the building of a data center in Santa Clara, California, focusing its development budget dollars instead on its data center in Virginia, the NAP of the Capital Region, according to a report by Data Center Knowledge.

The company says it is seeing significant demand for colocation and managed hosting services at the Culpeper, Virginia facility.
