Domain fees charged by the .com, .org. and .biz registry are increasing and set to impact retail prices next month. However, AIT says it will not to pass on the higher cost of the registrar fee to its new and existing customers, keeping bulk registration and individual domain registration prices the same. The company says it is also lowering the bulk domain minimum purchase requirement for both existing and new customers from a minimum 50 domain name bulk purchase to 25.
"We've always focused on the lowest possible price with a great feature set for our domains customers," says Sean A. McCoy, AIT chief marketing officer. "We discussed it and determined that we'd eat the cost."
Both existing and new AIT customers will be able to sign up for its new Enterprise 1 and Enterprise 2 hosting plans, which offer dedicated self-managed and fully managed hardware and software options. A completely customizable Enterprise 3 plan is currently being developed and will be available later this year.
AIT announced last week it filed a temporary restraining order last Friday against Fayetteville Publishing Company, requesting the court to intervene and expressing concerns that the company may have spoiled or destroyed evidence on the servers despite AIT's ongoing litigation against FPC.
