May, 2001 : NaviSite to Host SLI Inc.?s European Web Launch

📅 May 2, 2001 - NaviSite Inc. (navisite.com ), a leading provider of Web hosting and managed application services, announced on Wednesday that it would provide a range of managed hosting services and other products to support the launch of the European Web presence of international lighting manufacturer SLI Inc.

According to NaviSite, the SLI Web site is designed to provide customers with corporate and product information, as well as SLI's future e-commerce initiatives.
SLI designs, manufactures and sells its lighting systems, including lamps, fixtures and ballasts, to a large international customer base, marketing its products through manufacturing plants, sales offices and distribution facilities in more than 30 countries.
An evaluation of US and European hosting providers, says SLI, determined that only NaviSite offered the range of services the company required, including content distribution, application management and software and hardware rental. The company says it was also attracted to NaviSite's experience in the managed application hosting market.
According to NaviSite, while other vendors have started as colocation providers and moved into providing managed services, NaviSite was founded on managed application hosting.

📅 Jan 11, 2017 - Boston’s Navisite Data Center Bought by Carter Validus - Carter Validus REIT bought a 135,000-square foot data center facility in Andover, Massachusetts. The data center is currently leased to two tenants, one is Charter Communications and the other is Navisite, the cloud provider. Carter Validus reportedly paid $37 million for the facility.

Carter Validus has recently acquired data centers in Los Angeles, New Jersey, and in Franklin, Tennessee. The company currently owns nearly 50 properties.
