👈 Official Responses: 0) announced on Thursday that it has formed a relationship with leading European content distribution network Servecast, expanding the number of CDNs supporting NaviSite's leading streaming media management and content distribution platform, streamOS.

NaviSite says its customers will now have access to an expanded global network that will enable even more rapid delivery of high bit-rate streaming content with better quality and reliability.
The Dublin-based Servecast, which has built a pan-European infrastructure dedicated to the hosting and delivery of streaming media content, employs ``edge-spread delivery'' to push content as close to the end-user as possible. Under the companies? arrangement, these services will now be available to NaviSite's streamOS customers.
The addition of Servecast to NaviSite's current roster of CDNs further extends streamOS's global footprint and ensures maximum-quality streams for NaviSite's customers, says the company.
Since its launch in October of 2000, the streamOS platform has been used by both enterprise and entertainment customers, including Anheuser Busch and Universal Music Group. NaviSite has also delivered some of the Internet's biggest blockbuster events, including a Madonna concert last fall, an event that has been recorded as the most widely-viewed streaming event in Internet history.
With the addition of this new CDN agreement, NaviSite continues to enhance its high-performance streaming management network and is poised to capitalize on the sizeable market opportunity for streaming media management, storage, and delivery, a market forecasted to reach more than $24 billion by 2004, according to analyst group IDC.

Servecast joins st3.com, Speedera Networks, Inc., SMC Networks, Madge.web, and Digital Island as strategic partners of NaviSite's streamOS content management and delivery platform.
