📅 - Vianet Technologies, Inc.(vianet.com), a Plano, Texas-basedcompany, announced yesterday that it has taken a step forward in itspreviously announced merger with Comm-Services Corporation (CSC) with thesigning of a definitive legal agreement.

The signing marks the completion of the due diligence process by bothcompanies and the resolution of the commercial and legal terms of themerger. Both companies are working towards the completion of the mergerbefore the end of 2001.
The merger will allow the combined companies to offer global VPN servicesfor videoconferencing and a variety of other markets. The combination ofCSC's global IP network and Vianet's suite of visual media applications willprovide high-quality voice, video and data services to customers on aprivately managed IP-based network. In addition, a 24/7 network operationscenter is available to monitor, analyze, and test all aspects of the networkperformance, assuring minimum interruption of service and managed dynamicswitching to other routes for continued high quality service termination.The organization will provide managed broadband network access combiningboth traditional broadband copper access and broadband wireless access.
