📅 - Building on an existing 10-year alliance, EDS (eds.com) andSSP Solutions, Inc. (bizssp.com) announced yesterday SSP has signed an agreement with EDS to host, deploy and manage SSP's Trust Assurance Network (TAN). Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
SSP's TAN is a network of hardware devices enabling Internet security fromserver to user, providing solutions and services that secure access controland real-time movement of financial transactions and other digital content.
"EDS will be the trusted third party that will host and operate SSP'snetwork of servers and verifying agents that authorize, validate andauthenticate SSP Embassy devices and applications," said Al Decker, directorof EDS Global Security and Privacy Services. EDS successfully tested thecomponents of the TAN in its Herndon, Virginia lab facilities prior tofinalizing the agreement for live deployment.
The protection of digital rights - as it relates to financial transactions,online consumers, patient information, education or any one of a multitudeof issues that emerge within a digital environment - is the foundation ofthe SSP Solution Suite and the heart of the EDS-SSP alliance. The companiessigned their alliance in Nov. 2000. Under terms of the alliance, thecompanies work together to create, sell and deliver a set of securetransaction processing offerings based upon the SSP Solution Suite.According to Forrester Research, enterprises will increase security spendingby 55 percent within two years, with U.S. security spending growing to $19.7billion in 2004.
Among its responsibilities under the new agreement, EDS will host andoperate SSP's network of servers and verifying agents that authorize,validate and authenticate SSP Embassy devices and applications.
