📅 - Intel Corp., (intel.com) today announced a new, faster version of its Xeon processors that powers lower-end servers.
The Xeon processors, which are its first server chips to use Hyper-threading technology to speed performance, are geared towards servers that have two processors each. Enhancing performance by 80 percent above currently available two-way servers, the Hyper-threading technology and its Netburst chip design use Intel Xeon chips. The chips are produced to work with double-processor servers--most often used to serve up Web pages and as e-mail servers. (globix.com) said Thursday that will delay the filing date of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition until next week, at the request of a committee of its noteholders, reports Reuters.
