(steeleye.com) todayannounced that BBDO Interactive (bbdo-interactive.de), a subsidiary of thethird largest advertising agency worldwide, has chosen Linux to develop andhost Web sites and applications for its clients. BBDO Interactive isdeploying SteelEye's LifeKeeper clustering software running on Linux-basedIBM eServer xSeries servers and IBM DB2 Enterprise Edition for Linux.

BBDO Interactive chose Germany-based Computer Concept to help deliverSteelEye's newly available reliability package on IBM's eServer xSeries withDB2 database software for its enterprise-grade deployments. BBDO Interactivesays it was looking for high degrees of flexibility, reliability and ease ofmanagement to keep systems and applications running. The company found theseintegrated IBM eServer xSeries and SteelEye's LifeKeeper offerings for Linuxdeliver the benefits it needs while providing a time-to-market advantage.

SteelEye also announced that it has attained IBM's ServerProven validationfor its LifeKeeper products running on IBM eServer xSeries servers withLinux and Microsoft Windows operating environments. With this announcement,customers can choose from a variety of packaged clustering solutions, whichsupport IBM DB2 Universal Database, SAP R/3, Oracle, and email messagingenvironments.
An high availability clustering solution designed to provide continuousuptime of business applications, servers and data, LifeKeeper uses anintuitive Java GUI. SteelEye also provides an upgrade path from localprotection to WAN-optimized disaster monitoring and recovery with itsDisaster Recovery Solution offerings.
