Brocade Announces Agreement With EMC At Storage Management 2002

📅 March 21, 2002 - Brocade Communications Systems, Inc.(brocade.com), a provider of infrastructure for Storage Area Networks (SANs), and EMC Corporation, an information storage provider, announced today that EMC will integrate the Brocade Fabric Access Application Programming Interface (API) into the EMC WideSky storage management middleware. The announcement comes out of the Storage Management 2002 conference, where Brocade launched the Brocade Fabric Access API 2.0.

Managing the Brocade SilkWorm? family of fabric switches, this agreement will enable customers using applications developed using EMC (emc.com) WideSky, to use Brocade fabric switches, network servers with storage devices through a storage area network (SAN), and create a highly available, manageable, scalable, and secure environment for storage applications.
?EMC's WideSky provides developers with a common access mechanism to incorporate a wide range of storage networking capabilities into their products,? said Don Swatik, EMC's Vice President of Alliances and Information Sciences. ?Brocade and EMC are working together to deliver additional features and functionality that meet customer requirements for interoperability and SAN management.?

Shanghai Telecom, a subsidiary of China Telecom, will market its services under the brand name Unisiti.
