Streaming Media Corp. Acquires Navisite's Streaming Media Group

📅 April 4, 2002 - Streaming Media Corporation (smc.net), a provider of streaming technologyand solutions, said today it had acquired Navisite's Streaming Media Group,which provides Internet multimedia services managed from its own deliveryplatform.

Under the agreement, SMC will purchase NaviSite's StreamOS technologyplatform and certain related assets. SMC said it would integrate the sales,client services, technology and management teams of Navisite's StreamingMedia Group in to its own operations. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"This acquisition brings valuable technology and expertise to the StreamingMedia Corporation platform of services," said Art Williams, President ofSMC. "This transaction will benefit our customers and partners as well asfurther enhance our strong financial position in the marketplace."
In late January, SMC also acquired e-Media, a Stamford, CT-base streamingsolutions provider.
