📅 - Internet security firm GeoTrust (geotrust.com) and telephone identitymanagement company Authentify, Inc. today announced a partnership designedto provide telephone-based authentication for SSL certificates.
Under the terms of the agreement, GeoTrust will integrate Authentify'sautomated telephone validation service as part of the authentication processfor QuickSSL, its flagship product. GeoTrust said the availability of voice recognition would provide a strongeraudit trail to further prevent online fraud complete with email records,phone records, and voice recordings. "GeoTrust continues to innovate in the authentication process andprovisioning of SSL certificates," said Neal Creighton, CEO of GeoTrust."Our partnership with Authentify allows us to make our world class processeven better and produce a strong audit trail, greatly reducing error and therisk of online fraud that exists in first generation manual processes." Approximately 25,000 businesses in 80 countries currently use GeoTrust'stechnology for transaction security.
