📅 April 25, 2002 - Webcasting and digital media services provider Loudeye Technologies Inc. (loudeye.com) announced on Wednesday that it has expanded its relationship with e-business infrastructure service provider Akamai Technologies Inc. (akamai.com) in an effort to provide digital media solutions to Fortune 1000 customers and large-scale streaming events.

Through its Activate subsidiary, says Loudeye, the company offers a turnkey audio and video Webcasting solution, supported by proprietary applications for slide synchronization, audience interaction and real-time reporting. The company says its service can help enterprises to enhance communications by supporting investor calls, product launches, sales presentations, conferences and distance learning seminars.
The expanded agreement with Akamai, says Loudeye, allows the company's customers to benefit from the combination of Loudeye's own services with Akamai's globally distributed computing platform and streaming services. The combined offering increases the capacity of Loudeye's services and extends its reach to meet the needs of large-scale customers and events.
Loudeye says the two companies will collaborate on sales and marketing initiatives, as well as integrating Akamai's streaming services with Loudeye's Grand Central facility in an effort to seamlessly deploy the combined offering.
