Apr, 2002 : Digex Reports Strong Quarter for Customer Acquisitions

📅 April 25, 2002 - Managed hosting firm Digex Inc. (digex.com) today reported a "solid quarter" for customer acquisitions after inking 56 new customers between itself and WorldCom.

Some of the company's new customers include Benjamin Moore & Co., Henry Ford Museum and the U.S. State Department. Digex said a number of customers also renewed or upgraded their services.
Digex also announced revenue of $51.8 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2002, compared with $53.1 million a year ago. The company said the number of managed servers it maintained totaled 3,420, each server generating average monthly revenues of $4,638.
"We continue to add high-quality enterprise customers through a tough business environment," said Mark Shull, President and CEO of Digex. "As previously announced, we were pleased to gain WorldCom's formal approval of Digex's 2002 business plan, as it relates to WorldCom's funding commitment to Digex." Last year, WorldCom and Intermedia, former parent company of Digex, completed a merger that saw controlling interest in Digex handed over to WorldCom.

📅 Apr 26, 2002 - PSINet Europe Sold for $9.5 Million - Bankrupt ISP PSINet (psinet.ch) said today it had entered into an agreement to sell PSINet Europe to a group of investors for $9.5 million US. The group is led by led by Israel Corporation, a publicly held company, and ClearBlue Technologies Holdings. Because the transaction was structured as a stock purchase, the investors agreed to assume all liabilities and obligations of PSINet Europe.
